WCG 2008 University & College Championship at Brac University

This year, there will be three major tournaments, through which eight will be selected to go to Germany for the mega-event. The three events are: 1) WCG 2008 University & College Championship. 2) WCG 2008 Chittagong Preliminary Championship 3) WCG 2008 Bangladesh National Final.

WCG 2008 University & College Championship will be held at BRAC University on 15-17 May, where Universities and Colleges from all across the country shall be invited to participate. FIFA08, NFS ProStreet, Warcraft III, Counter Strike 1.6 are the four games to be played at the tournament. The tournament will start initially with knock out stages till Round 6 and will then be followed by Round Robin League till the Semifinals. The Winners of this tournament shall get a direct entry to the Round Robin Leagues of the WCG National Finals. A total of 80 Gaming Stations shall be installed to successfully organize the event.

WCG 2008 Chittagong Preliminary Championship shall take WCG beyond Dhaka for the first time and host an entire full scale event in Chittagong. The event shall take place in July, again playing the same 4 games. The winners of this tournament shall get a direct entry to the Round Robin League of the National Finals. A total of 80 Gaming Stations shall be installed to successfully organize the event.

WCG 2008 Bangladesh National Final, the biggest and only gaming tournament in Bangladesh shall invite all participants from all across the country. The National Finals shall play FIFA08, Counter Strike 1.6, NFS Prostreet and WarCraft III. The winners of this tournament shall represent Bangladesh in the Olympics of Computer Games at the Grand Finals of WCG in Germany this September where more than 70 countries shall be participating. A total of 8 Participants from the 4 different games shall be going to Cologne Germany at the WCG 2008 Grand Finals. A total of 100 Gaming Stations shall be installed to successfully organize the event.
